I am dedicated and enthusiastic piano teacher with over six years of experience in teaching classical, jazz and popular styles to adults and children within solo, duo and group lessons.
I began providing piano lessons in 2007 after graduating from Cardiff University with a degree in music with honours. In 2009 I joined the teaching team at the Forte School of Music in Cardiff. Here I taught the piano to groups of children, developing well-rounded and sensitive musicians within a fun and interactive environment. It was while teaching in Cardiff that I gained my certificate in ‘Being An Effective Teacher’ from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
I am now based in Bristol, where I provide individual lessons for adults and children, and also deliver group workshops for Bristol Music School. I think that Bristol is a wonderful place to be involved in music- there’s so much creativity, expression and inspiration here.
My own love of music encompasses a number of styles and genres. I have studied classical piano to diploma level and also hold a passion for jazz piano, most recently receiving lessons at the’Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama’.
During the last ten years I have enjoyed various performance opportunities as a soloist or within bands playing at hotels, restaurant, bars and weddings.
I believe that learning music is a lifelong journey and I love to continually challenge my own musical skills and seek new knowledge in order to grow, evolve and inspire my own teaching.
I am a member of the professional body for piano teachers, the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA), and I am fully DBS checked.
